Australian Vision Research – Research Grants for 2022-2023 closed on Tuesday May 24th. AVR received 26 applications this year and 4 grants from the Save Sight Society of New Zealand.Grants are available each year to ophthalmologists, trainee ophthalmologists or for work being done in university departments (or equivalent) of ophthalmology or ophthalmic research institutes. At least one member of the investigator team must be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology and a member of the AVR. Australian Vision Research is committed to complying with the highest standards of ethics and research integrity and to ensuring that the best science if funded. As such, each year AVR seeks expressions of interest from ophthalmologists to serve as reviewers of grant applications. Australian Vision Research provides peer review for grants submitted to the Save Society of New Zealand, this is a pro-bono service that allows us to support ophthalmic research for all RANZCO members.
