Australian Research Vision invites applications for research funding in 2022-2023. Grants will be available to ophthalmologists, trainee ophthalmologists or for work being done in University Departments (or equivalent) of Ophthalmology or Ophthalmic Research Institutes. At least one member of the investigator team must be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology and a member of the AVR. To support ophthalmologists wanting to get involved in research our Priming Grants are available, for these grants the applicant can receive assistance from an experienced ophthalmic researcher.  If unsure of eligibility, please contact the AVR (info@australianvisionresearch.org).

In 2021, the board of AVR approved $539,258 for allocation towards 11 projects for 2022.  The amount of money available each year varies, currently the AVR will consider funding individual grants for up to $50,000 for a period of one year.

Applications open on Monday April 4th 2022 and close on Tuesday May 24th at 11:59pm (AEST). Applicants can submit their applications via the AVR portal: https://australianvisionresearch.org/grants/
